The week of May 31 - June 5 in words

Well- this week was a rainy one- but it didnt start that way. I watered and fed everything tuesday night and come wednesday we had a huge rain- i'm talking about pools in the back yard. We didnt even get a break to check on our swimming veggies until Friday! Most of my top soil i mixed has migrated to the end of the garden so i will need to put some new stuff out and all the plants just look droopy and tired of being soaked.
The brocolli continues to grow leaves but no heads- i think we missed the boat and it's going to get too hot.
Tomatoes are looking great- we had a little scare with some white fly but the rain washed them away and the plants are almost as tall as me.
Other vine plants of note are peas, cantaloupe, squash and last but not least the incredible white pumpkin (see picture). This plant just grows and grows and i cant wait to see the pumpkins that come from it.
